AHS Physiotherapy

This affiliation allows us to expand our care options and better serve our community by offering AHS-funded physiotherapy services to eligible patients. Cochrane residents no longer need to travel to Airdrie or Calgary to receive post-surgical physiotherapy care. We are excited to remove barriers to care and make rehabilitation more accessible to our community!

 

Natural Balance physio clinic contracts with AHS to provide physiotherapy for:

 

• General musculoskeletal conditions, such as general joint or muscle conditions or injuries

• Post Fracture / Post Orthopedic surgeries (e.g. bones and joints)

• Post Operative Hip and Knee Arthroplasty (recent hip or knee replacements)

 

Albertans do not need a referral from a physician or healthcare professional to access AHS-funded physiotherapy. Here’s how to access services for each concern:

 

For general joint or muscle conditions or injuries:

• Contact the Rehabilitation Advice Line (RAL) for general information and guidance.

• Call 1-833-379-0563 for more information (available Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). For more information, visit ahs.ca/ral.

• Low-income Albertans may be eligible for virtual or in-person services. Contact RAL to determine if you qualify for low-income physiotherapy services.

 

For fractures and orthopedic surgeries:

• NOTE: Fracture and orthopedic surgery must have happened within the last 12 weeks. Physiotherapy clinics must have AHS approval if care needs to start later than 12 weeks after onset

 

For hip and knee replacements:
